Youth Ministry
Guiding Young Lives from Childhood Through College
Welcome to the Youth Ministry at Greater Bethel Baptist Church! We are passionate about creating a dynamic, supportive, and engaging environment where children, teenagers, and college-aged young adults can learn about God's love, explore biblical truths, build a foundational relationship with Jesus Christ, and navigate life's challenges with faith.
We envision a ministry where young people:
- Develop a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Understand and apply core biblical truths to their lives.
- Feel loved, valued, and supported in their faith journey and personal development.
- Build strong, healthy relationships with peers and mentors.
- Grow in their desire to serve God and share His love with others.
- Age-appropriate Bible lessons, discussions, and storytelling for all groups.
- Engaging worship, music, and creative arts.
- Fun and interactive activities, games, and social events.
- Mentorship programs and small group studies.
- A safe and secure environment with dedicated and vetted volunteers.
- Opportunities for community service and mission projects.
- Support and resources for navigating school, college, and early adulthood.
- Special events like Vacation Bible School (VBS), youth retreats, and holiday programs.
Our Youth Ministry programs are available during our Sunday morning service for various age groups, with additional activities and groups meeting throughout the week or month. We also encourage parents to get involved and welcome volunteers who have a heart for discipling young people.
The Youth Ministry is led by Minister Kimika Hunter. If you have any questions, would like to enroll your child/teen, get involved as a young adult, or volunteer, please feel free to connect with her.

We also support and encourage our college students to connect with campus ministries at Texas State University. Here are some great organizations:
A Jesus movement at Texas State that exists to exalt Jesus, make disciples, and build family. We do this by creating environments for students to encounter Jesus through worship, prayer, outreach, and discipleship.
A national movement dedicated to equipping Black students to become disciples of Jesus Christ who are spiritually focused, financially responsible, and morally fit leaders.
V.I.P. (Vision in Progress) is an on-campus Bible Study that meets every Thursday at 7pm in the LBJ student center and is open to all college students. The purpose of this Student organization is to help students on campus gain a solid understanding of their faith. This org also serves as a place of fellowship that can help students to develop relationships with other like-minded believers. We are here to help students with their walk with Christ and to do it as a community.
An open organization of seekers of Christ that participate in weekly Bible studies, support groups, and weekend/evening gatherings intended to nurture and strengthen the faith of all Christian students. Students from all walks of life are welcome to participate.
